What is ten? Ten is a Layer 2 Blockchain built and developed on Ethereum with the ambition of re-establishing the Ethereum ecosystem. Ten has attracted the interest of many famous investment funds such as Big Brain Holdings, Republic Capital, Kucoin Labs,…
So why does Ten have such an admirable charm? Let’s join us to find out an overview and details about Ten in the article below.
Overview of Ten
What is ten?
Ten is a Layer 2 built on Ethereum, so Ten’s inherent characteristics include:
- Inherits decentralization and security from the Ethereum network.
- Solve the expansion problem including transaction speed and transaction fees on Ethereum.
According to the development team, what makes Ten different is its commitment to privacy and encryption. Ten’s approach to privacy in terms of bringing privacy and encryption to the Blockchain is that Ten has taken advantage of Trusted Execution Environment is abbreviated as TEE or roughly translated as a reliable execution environment.
With the TEE environment, all input transactions, statuses of Smart contracts or the entire implementation process will be encrypted to ensure maximum security and privacy for users. This factor makes users feel secure about their own privacy. For example, no one wants to pay for a cup of coffee and have their entire assets exposed.
Application of Ten
The above characteristics have created a series of practical applications for Ten such as:
- Ten’s coding allows Game developers to implement hidden maps, “fog of war” mechanics – an area that the player cannot see and of course if there is an enemy in there, the player can also. not found.
- DeFi protocols have a privacy switch. This factor can be applied in keeping the liquidation price secret to avoid the common “liquidation hunting” behavior of whales today.
- Dark Pool Trading – privately organized exchange for buying and selling securities, where purchases are hidden until executed and reported. This allows investors to remain undisclosed about their intentions.
- Private auctions help bidders keep their prices secret.
Development Roadmap
Some of Ten’s key development stages include:
- Q4/2023: Deploy events such as Global Hackathon, Boost Marketing,… to attract developers.
- Q2/2024: Deploy mainnet and deploy our Native Token, OBX.
- H2/2024: Deploy Private Appchains, apply ZKP to increase scalability.
Core Team
James Carlyle: Co Founder & CEO
James graduated in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from Durham University. Upon graduating, James worked at Japanese companies such as an Engineer at Komatsu Construction or Development Manager at The Japan Research Institute.
Next, James worked as Chief Technology Officer for Fourleaf – a platform that connects startups with investment funds. Also after 2 years, James continued to build FableFlow with Casper Harnung, FableFlow provides a template-based messaging tool to create MMS (multimedia messaging) content for lottery & gambling operators.
It was not until later that James took on the position of Chief Engineer at the bank Barclays for nearly 8 years and worked as CEO at R3. Here James developed Obsuro which is a Layer 2 platform using Rollup technology.
Gavin Thomas: Co Founder
- Gavin obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
- Before taking on responsibilities at R3 and Obsuro with James, Gavin also worked as a Research and Development Engineer at MCI Worldcom and several roles at Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd and EBS Dealing Resources.
