What are Meta Apes?
Meta Apes is a Free to Play and Play to Earn MMO strategy game designed for mobile on multi-blockchain platforms set in a post-apocalyptic setting. When human life ended, a new era was ushered in by apes. The game has gameplay quite similar to the traditional hit game Rise of Kingdoms.
Meta Apes is available now on both Google Play (Android) & App Store (iOS) the game was first launched in August 2022 on the BNB chain. The project was born with the criteria of focusing on users, giving them high ownership and freedom, aiming for transparency to achieve the most interesting game experiences.
What are Meta Apes?
The difference between Meta Apes and traditional games is that all data related to the game exists on Blockchain instead of centralized servers controlled by Game Studios. With that true ownership, players can sell and trade assets in the Game easily, creating economic benefits.
Game Play Meta Apes
The gameplay of Meta Apes is similar to the game Rise of Kingdoms with the following modes:
- Building: pGrow your city and army through production or resource management, training and research
- Competition: cFight in PvP and PvE battles, participate in various challenges or mini-Games.
- Community: Collaborate and strategize with other players in your party. Along with that are missions in the Clan and Guild where players can conquer other lands.
- Exploration: Travel across the map and discover new lands.

Economic model in the Game
1. NFT – Strong connection
There are 2 NFT collections on Meta Apes including Fighter and Relic available on their Market. NFTs are currently being traded on the APE chain network, which is a side chain of BNB (BNB Application Sidechain). This is the first game released on BAS. Additionally, NFTs can be bridged across other blockchains such as Polygon zkEVM, ZkSync, Linea, Base via Celer Network.
Fighters are monkey NFTs that represent generals leading armies to conquer player civilizations and lands. The difference between the Free generals in the Game is that these NFT generals will be equipped with more skills. There will be about 1 to 3 additional skills in addition to the default skills and moreover, these skills will also have their power upgraded.
There are 4 different rarities of this NFT collection. More specifically, when owning these NFT Fighters, players will passively receive SHELL (this is the in-game currency like diamonds) with no conversion function to cash or Tokens. The number of SHELLs that the NFT Fighter rarity generates will vary slightly. Specifically:
Owning this NFT helps players’ champions not only have beautiful appearances but also be able to win big matches.
NFT Relics are accessories and items equipped to the player’s generals. Equipping them to generals will significantly increase their strength and Improve march movement performance.
2. On-chain tokens
PEEL Token is the main token in the Game used for purposes such as:
- Buy, sell, upgrade 2 NFTs Fighter and Relic.
- Mint NFT Relic. Players need to spend 50 PEEL to mint 1 Relic box, which contains random items with different rarities.
- Governance and voting.
- Buy SHELL
- Platform transaction fees. All transaction fees will be used to buy back PEEL and burn.
- Staking and receiving Staking Reward.
To earn PEEL in the game, players or guilds need to have high rankings through seasons similar to Axie games.
