AltLayer Overview
What is AltLayer?
AltLayer is a decentralized and flexible Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) protocol for application developers to launch execution layers suitable for highly scalable applications (Layer 2) .
AltLayer is an advanced platform specifically designed for application developers to enhance and integrate execution layers. Considered a unique composite layer, AltLayer brings many new innovations to help developers make the most of resources. With its multi-chain and multi-virtual machine design, AltLayer supports both Ethereum Coat Machine (EVM) and WASM.
AltLayer is not bound to a single L1 or L2, but instead operates as a modular scaling solution and can connect to all EVM and WASM compatible blockchains. This is a powerful technology that optimizes application performance and expands cross-platform integration.
Highlights of AltLayer
At AltLayer users can:
- Deploy your application on general purpose Layer 1 (e.g. Ethereum) or Layer 2 (e.g. Arbitrum One).
- Users can build their own application-specific chains using SDKs like the Cosmos SDK.
AltLayer provides the best solution for developers:
- Fast deployment: provides a Rollup-as-Service platform that allows developers to launch an application-specific rollup in minutes and thus makes it possible for application developers to get their applications live on Layers 2, with a similar experience to deploying on a general purpose thread.
- Secure and decentralized: AltLayer is secured by an underlying chain and therefore developers launching their compilations do not need to worry about bootstrapping their network. AltLayer allows developers to choose multiple sequencers to execute transactions and thus eliminates a single point of failure associated with centralized sequencers that is common in most aggregate implementations today.
- Easy to use: AltLayer also provides a simple and intuitive dashboard for not only developers but also those with little or no coding experience. to a custom compilation.
- flexible: AltLayer provides general services Extremely flexible and customizable. All these customizations can be done simply through a dashboard.
- Flash class: Provided by AltLayer, dApp developers can:
- Quickly create a fast and scalable compilation secured by L1.
- Use the summary for as long as necessary.
- Eliminate aggregation by performing “processing”end-of-life” on Grade 1.
- Multi-thread support: AltLayer is designed for the multi-threaded and multi-VM world and will therefore have factory support for EVM as well as WASM. MEach application-appropriate implementation layer will come with a number of application-specific tools, products, and applications as add-ons to improve the user and developer experience.
AltLayer’s operating mechanism
AltLayer uses the O composite execution modelptimistic Rollup but this is a completely independent implementation and not a fork of Optimism. It also comes with a dedicated sequencer network called Beacon Chain provides sequencing services for composites initiated by AltLayer. AltLayer’s core components are built from the ground up using Substrate and can support both WASM and EVM runtimes, making it possible to support Layer 1 beyond the EVM chain.
AltLayer separates the transaction execution lifecycle into several stages, i.e. transaction aggregation, block production, and block verification.
Beacon Layer
AltLayer uses the Beacon Layer lalternately between the execution layer and the data availability layer, and all aggregations initiated through AltLayer are kept in the Beacon Layer. BAny rollup launched via AltLayer can be directly verified by Beacon Layer.
Beacon Layer provides the following main services:
- Shared sequence class (Shared Sequencing Layer).
- Verification class (Verification Layer).
- Betting class (Staking/Slashing Layer).
- Interoperability layer (Interoperability Layer).
- Upgradability class (Upgradeability Layer).
- Social consensus layer (Social Consensus Layer).
