Overview of the Mad Lads collection
Mad Lads is the first collection of Backpack – the cryptocurrency wallet on Solana that introduces the new standard of xNFT. Basically, xNFT or Executable NFT are NFTs embedded with executable programming scripts. Simply put, xNFT itself is the foundation on which Web3 applications can operate.
Aesthetically, each NFT in the Mad Lads collection features characters drawn in a classic style combined with diverse clothing styles, making the collection unique and attractive to users.
What is Mad Labs
Mad Lads was launched on April 20, 2023, each NFT is minted at 6.9 SOL. Right before launch, Mad Lads encountered difficulties during the Public mint process when it was attacked by DDOS bots, forcing the project to be delayed for 24 hours. Backpack’s developers fixed it by creating 2 unique coin minting portals to separate users from Bots.
Immediately after debut, Mad Lads showed impressive appeal. The skyrocketing price led to frenzied user participation in the NFT community and a whopping $8M+ was generated in just 24 hours of launch. Additionally, even the co-founder of Solana is Anatoly and Raj Gokal also supported the project by setting Mad Lads as their Twitter avatar.
