What are Golden Tides?
Golden Tides is an online MOBA Web3 Game that takes players into a fantasy pirate world full of danger and excitement. The game is currently in testing with a beta version that can be played on Window OS. In the future, when the Game is officially launched, it will be available on the Polygon blockchain.
The story in the game originates from the inspiration of pirate characters participating and fighting each other to search and compete for treasures on many different islands. To find them, players need to overcome countless challenges on the island such as fighting monsters and overcoming terrain. Sometimes there are encounters between hostile teams.
The game has a simple, traditional 2D graphic design that sets the stage for quick construction. From there, it is easy for the PC to not consume too much GPU resources to load the Game.
Game Play Golden Tides
In Golden Tides, players begin their adventure by choosing a character and joining free-to-play Servers, where they can start accumulating countless rewards. These rewards range from actual Game items of varying rarity and special heroes to loot like Tokens.
For those seeking greater risk and reward, purchasing a Ship NFT grants access to the PREMIUM server, where economic rewards such as treasure can be earned higher and more frequently.
1. Game mode
There are two main game modes: PvP and PvE.
In PvE, players will participate in various quests that can find paths to hidden treasures, collect map pieces and overcome unforeseen dangers.
These missions span a variety of activities, including NPC interactions, Zombie hunting, chases, boat races, Battle Ship battles, event missions, battle defense, survival challenges, and other event quiz. Each mission is an opportunity to learn more about the game’s story.
In PvP, the Crew members must cooperate and develop strategies to overcome dangerous waters. They will encounter formidable NPCs on both land and sea. In addition, they must participate in intense PVP battles with other players outside their team to gain control of the Boss area. From there, defeat the bot and receive valuable rewards.
When defeated in Golden Tides, players can revive. However, after a battle tDefeated players may lose items and NFTs from their inventory. On the other hand, victory brings loot that is divided equally among the whole team, ensuring that each member gets his or her share of the treasure, contributing to a fair and exciting gaming experience.
2. Characters in the Game
In the official version, as announced by the project, there will be about 12 different character lines. However, in the test version, only 8 characters will be introduced. These characters are generals in the Game and will exist as NFTs.
Each character has a unique story similar to the famous game League of Legends. From there, these generals also have diverse roles such as main damage dealers (ADC) or tankers (Tanker) or Assassins. Each general will have a unique set of 6 skills and 1 internal skill.

Economic model in the Game
1. NFT – Strong connection
As mentioned above, nPlayers can set sail with Ship NFT, for each NFT owned, the player will have 9 lives and be granted the right to hunt for treasure on Pemium Servers. One thing to note is that when a ship sinks due to exceeding the allowed number of deaths, it will trigger an auction feature, returning 80% of the sale price to the previous owner, while also distributing 10% for sunken crew members and 10% for Game protocol (treasury).
When you win. The NFT will be retained and the owner of this NFT will receive an economic reward of 80% of the price of that NFT and 10% will be divided among the crew. The remaining 10% will be put into the Treasury.
This is called the Burn NFT mechanism used somewhat similar to the Game Gas Hero. When a Game starts. If skills and qualifications are not enough, the player will lose a certain amount of money. With this model, Earn will simply take money from unskilled players to pay skilled players. Please consider carefully before wanting to use this Play to Earn mechanism if you are not really a good Gamer.
In addition to the Ship NFT, there are other NFT sets like the Hero Skin NFT that offer visual appeal and varying rarity levels for avatar customization. Next to it is the Treasure Map NFT that promises hidden treasures. There are also Mythical NFT Items that add strategic depth with unique abilities, cooldown buffs for champions but at the risk of losing them in battles. Finally, other NFT skins create the foundation to improve the interface for champions to become more beautiful.
2. Reward tokens
The game uses a two-currency model with DOUBLOONS acting as a utility token in the game and GT as the governance token.
- DOUBLOONS are used for in-Game transactions such as purchasing NFT Ships or other NFTs and consumables.
- GT acts as a Token that gives the owner the right to vote on proposed ideas from the issuer and the community in the future. It also comes with some other benefits like access to special events or airdrops of NFT sets.
Currently, there is still no detailed information about the Tokenomic of these two coins. Maybe when the official Game launches, the project will launch a token, everyone can follow their information channels to update as quickly as possible.

Currently, the game is still in the testing process and receiving feedback from the community, so the team has not yet announced specific timelines. They just announced that the game will be officially released in 2024.
