Open Campus Overview
What is Open Campus?
Open Campus is a platform built with the goal of bringing decentralization, transparency and fairness in the education sector. With Open Campus, everyone has the right to build, develop and promote their content globally and vice versa, based on the quality information sources they create, they can generate revenue from it.
The education market is an extremely lucrative market besides TradFi, but in the crypto market, there is almost no successful project. Open Campus is one of the flagships with the goal of bringing blockchain technology to the education industry and creating a new trend for the crypto market.
Operating mechanism of Open Campus
The operating mechanism of Open Campus is extremely simple:
- Step 1: Content creators create content and the content is NFTized.
- Step 2: Courses as NFTs will be sold on Open Campus’s NFT Marketplace. NFT buyers are called Co – Publishers who will play the role of marketing for the course they purchase.
- Step 3: The course in NFT format is pushed to the Education Platform but must first pass censorship and be awarded the Course Certificate title.
- Step 4: Those who purchase the course will have to pay a fee.
- Step 5: This amount will be divided between content creators, platforms and Co – Publishers.
NFT collections on the Open Campus platform
In June 2023, Open Campus officially introduced to the community the Genesis NFT collection – for those who have supported and been loyal to Open Campus since the first days. Collection includes:
- Golden Backpacks
- Silver Notebooks
Golden Backpack and Silver Notebook owners will have a number of privileges and benefits on the Open Campus ecosystem as follows:
- Receive EDU Airdrop and Publisher NFT Credits: When users mint Golden Backpack, they will receive a reward of 500 EDU and 125 EDU when minting Silver Notebook. Besides, users will receive credits to participate in purchasing Publisher NFTs in the future depending on the number of Genesis NFTs claimed on the first day.
- Participate in early purchasing of future Publisher NFTs. This provides the opportunity to participate more deeply in the Open Campus ecosystem.
- Enhanced revenue sharing: If users own both Publisher NFT and Genesis NFT, they will receive more revenue sharing in the future.
The total supply of Genesis NFT is 6,666 FNT including 1,333 Golden Backpack and 5,333 Silver Notebook. NFTs that are not minted will be minted by the administrator and sent to the Open Campus Treasury.
Open Campus ID: Domain name on the ecosystem
Open Campus is building a proof of user certification and learning process in the form of Soulbound Token and calls it Proof of Education. So everyone participating in the platform will have a Decentralized Identifiers (DID) – considered the user’s identifier in the ecosystem. This identifier will store all information, levels, progress,… of the user.
Decentralized Identifiers will be divided into 3 stages:
- Phase 1: Open to EDU or Genesis NFT holders to participate.
- Phase 2: For DID owners from other protocols.
- Phase 3: Open to everyone.
Phase 1 and 2 participants will receive additional OC Points that can be used to participate in Campus Reward programs.
Open Campus Ecosystem
Tiny Tap – The first application built on the Open Campus platform
Tiny Tap is a subsidiary of the famous NFT – Gaming investment fund Amonica Brand, headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel and founded in 2012 by Yogev Shelly and Oren Elbaz.
Previously, Tiny Tap was an educational web2 platform that allowed content creators who were knowledgeable like teachers to build and create content without having to understand code for the students. developers and all of the above benefits are received completely free of charge from Tiny Tap.
Tiny Tap’s business model is relatively simple as Tiny Tap will share the revenue that creators receive when someone is willing to pay for the creator’s content. So Tiny Tap will make money based on the success and virality of the content creators, who here are mainly teachers.
Currently, Tiny Tap has about 100 thousand teachers and more than 9 million students and families globally. Besides, Tiny Tap has an unknown number of app downloads but only has about 98 reviews with an average star count of 4.3. Tiny Tap supports 4 main languages including: English, Hebrew, Japanese, French and Arabic.
I myself have experienced the app and found some of the following advantages:
- Use, register and log in easily.
- The game is quite simple combined with relatively good music
- Spanning many different ages and diverse, eye-catching graphics
Tiny Tap is the first platform to apply Open Campus technology with the core technology being Blockchain.
Build an Open Campus Alliance
Open Campus Alliance is an alliance of educational platforms built and developed by Open Campus in promoting platforms that use EDU as transaction fees on their own platforms.
Currently, there are more and more organizations participating in the Open Campus Alliance, including:
- Infrastructure: Binance PAY.
- An example of education is: Care Bears belong to Cloudco Entertainment, Care Bears is a platform that educates children to gain more knowledge and understanding about the environment and climate change; GLEAC is a network of industry experts for people who want to improve their skills; Avion is an online learning platform focusing on a number of knowledge such as Data Science, data Visualization, Regression, Data Modeling, Machine Learning & Statistical Programming,…
Obviously, the more OC Alliance expands, the greater the power of Open Campus will be.
OC-X development
OC-X stands for Open Campus Alliance. OC-X will be an alliance of Content Creators on the Open Campus platform with many rights and obligations.
