Detailed instructions for the game Alchemy: Battle For Ankhos
Now that the game is running on the project’s discord, users can increase their ELO – skill rating – by defeating AI opponents. This is my experience in the past 1 week while experiencing the game:
- Win Colosseum (PvE) matches to increase ELO.
- The greater the number of surviving characters, the greater the ELO increase.
- The difficulty of AI opponents increases as you pass 1500, 1600 and 1700 ELO
- Track your ELO on the public leaderboard, now accessible in the tournments channel.
Fight
Battles take place on the Play- here channel. Use skills and attacks to deal damage – the first player to defeat all enemy characters wins. This is a fighting game so the two sides will take turns acting. Each turn, players have 4 main choices:
- Use a skill: Use any front-line character’s skills or mid-line character’s main-type skills.
- Onslaught: Increases the power of your frontline character’s auto attacks this turn.
- Convert: Change the positions of your characters.
- Interrupt: Prevents enemies from using a skill.
The battle order takes place in this order:
- If someone wants to swap, the characters will swap.
- If someone wants to use a skill, the skills will be used.
- Attacks occur automatically from each character (happens every turn, even if “Fierce Attack” is not selected.
- Stronger skills will consume more stamina. Stamina is written after the name of the skill.
Energy
Some stronger skills will require multiple energy tanks. This is displayed in the bottom bar of each team. Energy will automatically fill each turn depending on the “energy regeneration” stat of the frontline character. If you successfully interrupt the enemy’s skill, you will be rewarded with a full tank!
Match position
Characters in the game are arranged starting at the Previous positions, Between and After.
- Frontline: The character will do most of the work. At the end of each turn, the character in front of you will automatically attack and gain some mana. All skills of this character will be available for use.
- Median: This position is a “support” role. While they don’t have any effect on auto or charge attacks, you do use their primary type skills.
- Back-line: Consider this position a “reserve”. While the characters in the background are inactive, they are also safe from attack (except in special cases).
Strength index
Each character has 4 stats: HP, Damage, Charge and Speed.
- HP: How much damage a character can take before dying. Formula: HP + Stamina.
- Damage: How much damage the character deals when auto-attacking. Formula: Strength + Dexterity + Intelligence/2 + Luck/2
- Mana Regen: How much mana your team receives when this character is on the front lines. Energy is expended to use more powerful abilities. Formula: Intelligence + Wisdom
- Speed: Each turn, the character with higher speed goes first. Formula: Dexterity + Agility + Luck/2
Skill
Each character has 3 skills based on the champion’s system. Champions will have 2 main system words and one secondary system word. Characters can use all 3 skills when in a frontline position and 2 main class skills when they are in a mid-line position. Some stronger skills will require an “energy bar”. This is displayed in the bottom bar of each team.
Level up your character
Once a character has gained enough experience, they are eligible to level up. Users can level up characters through Inn > Level Up. Every time one of your characters levels up, you get 1 stat point to distribute and need 2 points for a new class to unlock. Every time you level up, your character will receive some stat points to increase his strength. These stat boosts carry over to any power item you choose!
Unlock Us
Users can unlock 1 system for their character each time they level up. This will allow the character to switch to that system. Characters can use any unlocked system as their primary and secondary systems. Below is a summary of the systems in the game:
Some systems have certain conditions. For example, a character must unlock the Guardian type before they can unlock the Knight type. And both the Knight and Berserker systems must be unlocked before the Lord system.
Rest
After each expedition, your characters will tire, depending on how much HP they have left. Maximum rest time is shown in the expedition tab. Note: While resting, the character will not be able to perform quests or go on other expeditions.
- Death – 30% HP remaining: Maximum Rest Time required.
- 30%-70% HP Remaining: 1/2 Rest Time
- 30%-Full Left: 1/4 of Resting Duration.
