Overview of Parallel Game
What is Parallel?
Parallel is a trading card game (TCG) franchise that empowers owners including NFT asset types. These cards will be used to build complete decks and play in the Game. However, at the time of writing, the new game is in the Private testing phase. The game’s story background is inspired by the world of science fiction and was adapted into the comic book series Parallel’s Comic.
The game is published by Parallel Studios itself and is part of the ecosystem Echelon Prime Foundation and was first developed in mid-2021. They built a game genre with an extremely deep and extensive storyline, thereby forming extremely diverse character lines in the cards. That is proven through their products designed by leading Artists and Developers from Riot Game, Blizzard, Xbox Game Studio, Wizards and Epic Games.
Each 3D card will be designed by Artists as NFT. However, with the Free to Play engine, players will not need to own them to play the Game. On the other hand, if you own NFT cards while playing the Game. Users will receive worthy economic rewards.

1. Gameplay
For easy visualization, everyone can refer to the demo video from the project. Regarding the gameplay of the Game, it is somewhat similar to the traditional YuiGi-OH Game. First of all, the necessary condition to participate in a match is the deck of cards. These will include some of the following principles.
- Needs 40 cards to start.
- Up to 3 identical cards can be included in the deck
- Cards with Legendary rarity will only have 1 card added to the deck.
This is a 1vs1 card game, so when the game starts, the system will randomly choose who will go first. The player will then draw 5 random cards from their deck. They may choose to return any of those cards back to the deck to redraw the replaced number later to suit their strategy on the first turn.
On the first turn, the player who goes first will not be able to draw cards, but the second player will be able to. At the beginning of each turn, the player will draw 1 random card from the deck. The maximum number of cards held in hand is 8 cards.
The player’s task is to exhaust the original points also known as health (in the game it is 30 health points) of the opposing player to win. The main thing is the deck of cards and the types of cards to be able to win against the opponent.
However, because the game is currently only in the development stage and in a testing state, there is not much information about each card and specific strategies.
There will be 3 main types of cards included in the deck such as:
- Unit: These are Creatures, Structures, and Monsters that can participate in battle on the card table.
- Relics: These are permanent relics and objects that appear with some temporarily activated abilities such as buffs and various effects. Increase advantages for players. They have not been revealed much by the project yet.
- Effects: This is a magic-style card that is only valid for one use, used to upgrade and increase stats, support or cause other effects associated with each unit on the battlefield.
2. Card character lines in the Game
With a storyline built by talented writers from Riot Game, the Unit characters in the Game are introduced from 5 different planets and have different natural elements.
- Earthen: Earth Unit Group.
- Marcolian: Mars Unit Group.
- Augencore: Robotics Unit Group.
- Kathari: Jupiter Unit Group.
- Shroud: Group of colonial units on a space ship.
These are simply character lines that help make the deck more lively and attractive with each sprawling storyline told and woven into the Game universe. Since then, many impressive comic products have been produced.
Economic model in the Game
1. NFT – Strong connection
Currently there are 3 main NFT collections listed on OpenSea called Parallel Alpha, Parallel Avatars and Parallel Planetfall.
Parallel Alpha is the first NFT collection released in March 2021 with the highlight of integrating the signatures of the Artists who designed them with nearly 6 million Total Items.
Parallel Platnetfall is a mainstream NFT collection that was just launched in October 2023. These are in-game card NFTs containing more than 120 new card types and dozens of other collectibles. They are introduced to have completely new mechanics that come with powerful abilities to enhance users’ gameplay. Their benefit to owning is that they give players the ability to earn economic rewards.
Parallel Avatars is an NFT collection featuring characters from the 5 factions mentioned above with a maximum supply of 11,000 NFTs. They can be set as Profile Pictures and can be used in the Parallel ecosystem in the future. As well as earning additional economic rewards in the Game every time you win, specifically earning PRIME tokens. In addition, owners also receive exclusive access to the Private Game experience.
In the future, there will be many other Collections with many unique privileges appearing on Parallel’s ecosystem. Everyone can follow project information channels to update them as quickly as possible.
2. Economy
The project uses a 2-type token model with GLINTS and PRIME
GLINTS is the in-Game currency used to make non-NFT purchases in the Game store and is not redeemable for cash or PRIME tokens. They believe that using this off-chain Token will significantly increase the number of users playing traditional games that do not come from Web3.
Users can use PRIME tokens to purchase GLINTS tokens or with a VISA Credit credit card. However, 20% of the credit card amount spent on GLINTS will go to the Echelon Foundation to support the project’s ecosystem in the long term. The rest if using PRIME tokens will be 100% converted as usual.
As mentioned above, if a user owns NFT, after each win the player will receive a reward of PRIME tokens. However, the number of tokens received will be calculated as a percentage of the number of NFTs in their deck. For example: If 100% of that deck exists in NFT form, the amount they receive will be 100% for each game won. When playing in any mode, including Free to Play or Play to Earn, there will be information about the number of PRIME received if you win with 100% NFT ownership and if 50% of the cards are NFT. the player will only receive 50% of that statistical amount.
Currently there is not much information about PRIME’s Tokenomics. It is expected that when the game is officially released, tokens will be released.
Development Roadmap
The project does not give a specific timeline, but it does mention that the Game will be released in Open Beta in 2024. Currently, the trial version is only in Private status.
Investor
- On October 21, 2021, the project raised 50,000,000 USD at a valuation of 500,000,000 USD from Paradigm fund.
