What is Taiko? Taiko is a Layer 2 platform built on Ethereum with the core technology Zk Rollup similar to ZkSync, StarkNet, Scroll or Polygon zkEVM. What is Taiko?
Taiko is a Zk Rollup Chain platform built on Ethereum. Similar to most other Zk Rollup platforms, Taiko is currently developing its own zkEVM. With zkEVM, projects on Ethereum or EVM Blockchain can be easily deployed and operated on Taiko. Besides, developers do not need to learn a new programming language but can use Sodility on Taiko.
Taiko is proud that its zkEVM belongs to type 1.. According to Taiko and Vitalik Buterin – Founder of Ethereum, EVM compatibility has many different types of compatibility with the highest level compatibility being type 1, which means that the code of projects from Ethereum can be transferred to zkEVMs. can work without the need for editing or even fine-tuning.\
Besides being proud to be a first-class zkEVM, Taiko is an open source platform and inherits the decentralization and security of Ethereum.
Development Roadmap
Taiko’s development roadmap will be divided into many stages such as Alpha 1 Testnet, Alpha 2 Testnet and a number of Testnet versions to thoroughly handle errors that arise during operation. After Alpha Testnet there will be several Beta Testnet versions and Mainnet is expected around early 2024.
In fact, Taiko is going through a number of routes as follows:
- December 28, 2022: Taiko Alpha 1 Testnet was officially deployed.
- March 22, 2023: Taiko Alpha 2 Testnet was officially deployed.
- April 7, 2023: Taiko Alpha 2 Testnet upgraded.
- June 7, 2023: Taiko Alpha 3 Testnet was officially deployed.
- July 8, 2023: Taiko Alpha 3 Testnet upgraded.
- June 7, 2023: Taiko Alpha 4 Testnet was officially deployed with the goal of testing Taiko’s Layer 3 network.

Core Team
- Daniel has an extremely rich academic record, having first earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Science and Technology of China. Dainel then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Computer Science at Arizona State University. Moving on, Daniel earned his MBA from the University of Minnesota.
- After graduating, Daniel began working as a Software and Technology Engineer team leader at Boston Scientific for 3 years and at Google for 4 years.
- Next, Daniel started starting technology companies such as Yunrang (Beijing) Information Techonoloy Ltd, ZhongAn Insurance and most especially a quite famous Layer 2 platform in the previous period, Loopring.
- After more than 4 years with Loopring, Daniel started building Taiko in March 2022.
Terence Lam: Co Founder & CSO
- Terence first obtained a Bachelor of Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1989. Terence then went on to earn a degree in Marketing Management from Macquarie Business School. Next is to study at Tsinghua University and Harvard.
- During his startup years, Terence worked as an Engineer at Nortel Networks and spent more than 5 years at Motorola China.
- Next, Terence continued to open companies or hold senior positions at many companies such as ID Innovation Limited, Asia Mobilenet Ltd, Motorola, Racefit International Company Limited, Dora Network, Vite Labs Limited, Ascent Vision International Limited, etc. .
